The vaka (main hull) is assembled along the bow and keel, the transom is still open. On the right, an ama side is awaiting its fiberglass sheathing.
The view to the right is of the inverted vaka (main hull) with the centerboard trunk inserted but not yet attached and trimmed out. The four-inch wide keelson is adjacent. It remains raw wood but will be 'glassed and finished soon. I will also be attaching a 1/4" stainless steel skid along the bottom while the hull is in this position. Bottom paint (CopperPoxy) will also be applied before the hull is turned upright.
The skeg and transom are attached along with the pintles for the rudder. The keelson is complete and I've cut out the centerboard slot. The first coat of primer before the CopperPoxy is on.
