We decided to add an extension to the transom– for a number of reasons. The stern looked a bit dated and we wanted a more rakish, sleek finish to the after end. We also wanted to add steps for getting into and out of the dinghy. Plus, the extension would act as rudder stops.

Here are the forms which have been cold-molded with strips of mahogany and epoxy.

I have removed the forms and the last of the staples and screws. Just to make sure everything stayed in place, I fastened on a jig outside to steady the extensions, which have yet to be built up on the inboard side.
