This is the aft cabin as seen from the cockpit. The beginnings of the galley cabinet front on the starboard side (remember, you're looking aft) is jammed into place. We'll have 2-burner propane cooking, with an oven above. The white is just the epoxy barrier primer, not the final color scheme. There will a minimum of anything red, white or blue...

You can see where I've framed spaces into the deck stringers for small 8"x8" deck hatches. We found a real buy on these during a trip years ago down to Minney's Salvage in Newport Beach, so we bought five, plus some latches and big cleats. We didn't find anything to buy at the swap meet even though we arrived before dawn! eBay has also been a great source for parts.

This view from farther forward looking aft shows the cockpit and both companionway openings. No, the steering pedestal doesn't go there on the seat!

Notice I've built an access hatch into each cockpit seat. The starboard hatch opens into the engine compartment. The port bin will house the watermaker, fuel tank, and two small removable water tanks of 18 gallons each.

Visible in the foreground are the berth supports in the foreward cabin, which sport a myriad of ventilation holes.
