Another milestone!

After over ten years of it laying around the barn, we are finally installing the centerboard. It's very heavy, yet will float in the water. It will be pulled down into position below the keel on its pivot in the centerboard trunk using control lines that attach to the big eye bolt being used to lift it onto the boat now.

We had the opportunity to use some extra hands when the unsuspecting help arrived to view Rikki-tikki's progress. The two men on either side of the photo below built a 40-foot Searunner with a very similar centerboard configuration, so they knew what to expect.

We fed everyone a nice dinner afterward, so they didn't go unrewarded! Thanks for your help, Dick and Gary (and Dave too!).
