No, the steering pedestal doesn't go there! Actually that's about where the mast will be stepped, so you can see how close it is to the cabin and one of the reasons why we relocated the companionway. The huge locker in the right foreground may be allocated to the propane tanks and BBQ stowage. It is over the wing so drainage is easy and sure. We'll see how things shape up.

Engine access is through the starboard seat hatch. The compartment is roomy and there will be room for batteries and water heater, inverter and cabin heater (we plan on heading north first), etc.

The port seat hatch gives good stowage and is the location of the membrane for our Offshore Marine Labs reverse osmosis watermaker. Below that is this custom ($$) diesel fuel tank which holds about 50 gallons. I engineered it so I could get it out later, if necessary.

Water will be carried in a 35-gallon tank built below the sole in the master stateroom. It was difficult locating NFS-approved paint for this small-size tank, but I did. I also built two smaller tanks, 18 gallons each, that also slide into this port seat locker. Even with all this, we have room for more stuff in this large bin!
