Remember the bulkhead opening above the MSD (marine sanitation device)? It now has a beautiful door inset with canes of black bamboo from our garden. We are taking some of home with us! We love our black bamboo grove and will miss it very much, but it was a bit of a problem finding canes small enough to use in our cabinet door! Anyway, our door will provide much ventilation through to the forepeak where all the valves and pumps reside. There is also a fan that will draw air from here to the outside.

The buttons on the right control the electric flush and the shower sump pump. There is also a manual flush using a Henderson pump mounted behind the bulkhead. Its handle can be seen below.

This portside conglomeration of Y-valves and pipes brings water into the MSD and directs it into the pumpout up on deck. The Shur pump is for the washdown system.

This starboard arrangement is even more complicated with the hand and the electric pumps for the MSD, the electrical to make it work, and the Y-valves to direct the flow.

The photo below shows the Tank Tender monitor, the holding tank inspection/
cleanout, plus more fittings and hoses. After hours of just working this out in my head and many more hours installing it, we started thinking AirHead® (the new marine compositing toilet that requires no plumbing).

This forepeak area is completely contained by the bulkhead, the opening to which is well above the waterline.
